The final field and barrier draw for the 2011 Sandown Classic has revealed just five horses have accepted for the race.

The Group 2 Sandown Classic, which is this year known as the Zipping Classic , is due to be run at Ascot Racecourse this Saturday November 12, 2011.

Americain remains in the 2011 Sandown Classic field and has drawn the widest barrier of five.

The seven-year-old gelding is fresh off his unlucky fourth placing in the Melbourne Cup last start.

Prior to that, Americain won the Group 2 Drake International Cup at Moonee Valley on Cox Plate Day.

Also included in the 2011 Sandown Classic final field and barrier draw is Mourayan, who was a late scratching from the Melbourne Cup field.

Mourayan was well backed to feature in the $6 million Melbourne Cup’s finish, however, soreness in a toe due to corrective shoeing led to his withdrawal from the race.

The five-year-old entire has drawn barrier three for the 2011 Sandown Classic and will be ridden by jockey Hugh Bowman.

The remainder of the 2011 Sandown Classic final field includes Manighar, Lamasery and Saptapadi.
